The podcasting idea was born to combine traditional teaching methods with new technologies, because nowadays young people have a natural inclination towards the various forms of media. Using this new didactic tools reawakens the students learning interest, at the same time they learn how to use in a critical way media and technology. The project can be carried out in the computer schoolroom or in a recording room for two hours per week. The main tools used are: pc, mixer, headphones, microphone, specific software and an audio-hosting. The episodes can be recorded at school, while the teaching material collecting can be done at home. Teachers and students can daily keep in touch and compare ideas, guidelines or to make a report of the job done thanks to messenger.

Objectives:
Subject goals for Italian language:

1) The students train Italian language, written and oral, and its use. 2) They constantly compare the writing art and grammar because they have to transform the text into radio broadcasting dialogues; 3) They improve their diction (dialect inflection can’t be heard in a radio). They also train their voice tone and learn how to use pauses to give more sense to the subject and speech.

Emotional and relational goals:

1) The students learn how to work in group, interact with each other and handle the different situation/group of work. 2) They learn how to carry on a project, to meet deadlinesetc; 3) They learn how to handle their emotionality, at the same time they learn how to use self-control at school. 4) The teacher involved in the project can put himself through the hoops; 5) The students reawaken their interest towards learning in general because of their huge inclination towards technology; 6) They learn how to use in a positive and critical way media and technology.

Computer studies goals:

1) The students learn how to use specific tools such as mixer, microphone, recording techniques and handling audio files; 2) They learn how to create a radio broadcast; 3) They learn how to search something on the web; to take out a podcast subscription; to create a podcast becoming multimedia contents authors and editors;

Interdisciplinary or indirect goals:

1) Use of the English language, because this is the language used on the web and for some software; 2) Cooperation with music teacher because podcast episodes need musical accompaniment.
