1. Description of Our Community
Qingchuan was located in the center of China, on the edge of Sichuan Basin, next to three provinces and eight counties and was the important gorge from Shanxi Province to Sichuan Province. The local terrain was star-moon format. It was surrounded by mountains on which were perpetual snows even in June. The longitude was from 500 to 3819 meters in the area of 3260 square meters. The climate between the west and the east was rather different. There were nine nationalities such as Han and Hui. There were 250 thousand populations in its 36 subordinate towns.
2. Summary of Our Project
Qingchuan was a charming place. There were many scenic sits could be chosen, but the Earthquake Ruins Park was the most representative among these. We decided to take “the Earthquake Ruins Park” as the theme, and displayed the disaster situation, spiritual situation of Qingchuan, the geologic patterns with great scientific value and the Park with tourism value to the whole world.

5. Our Project Sound Bite
This was the first time for us to make web pages and to take part in the international match, so we thought of the first person who ate crabs. For us it was a great thing and a creation. I. Responsibility: As a resident of Qingchuan which was one of the ten heaviest disaster areas, we had the responsibility for introducing hometown to the world. II. Hardship: choosing theme, collecting data, interviewing personally, screening context, writing compositions and acquiring knowledge. III. Happiness: difficult as things were, we would still insist; bitter as feeling was, we would taste sweet if with hope. IV. Mature: getting through troubles, learning to observe, being good at finding and taking part in practise. V. Achievements: opening our eyes, loving hometowns, strengthening perseverance and achieving full experience.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
This activity was a good practice course for our students. The attending members were all the junior students in High School. Through this activity, they had more interests on learning computer and knew they could show many things through the stage of computers. They did not have such opportunity to achieve these experiences before, so everyone was energetically in the activity. They showed their unique ability in the process of the activity. Certainly, the result was not so perfect and mature, but everyone understood that only through his endeavor and insistence, they would create miracle and succeed.
