1. Description of Our Community
Qijin is a sandbank located on the south of Taiwan. It used to be named Qihou. As a popular tourist attraction, numerous tourists visit there for its historical remains; for example, Qihou Battery, Qihou Lighthouse, Tianhou Temple at Qihou, and YM Museum of Marine Exploration Kaohsiung, etc. Living near sea, the locals have a religion deeply in Matsu. It is also famous for a historical temple named Tianhou Temple which Matsu stays in and has been existing for 300 years. The rush tourist period is summer vacation when foreign tourists and students flock into Qijin to enjoy the beautiful beach, the shiny sunshine, and, the most well-known, magnificent sand sculptures. Some of them go there for as fresh as tasty seafood. There are two ways to Qijin. One is ferry on which passengers not only can feel the cool breeze blowing their faces but also smell the strong smell of seawater. The other one is driving through tunnel. It costs much more time, but a wonderful chatting time is awesome as well.
