1. Description of Our Community
Tong'an Elementary School is located in Fenyuan Township, Changhua County, Taiwan. Located on the east side of the Bagua Mountains, it is about 200 meters above sea level and belongs to hilly land. Administratively under the jurisdiction of Fenyuan Township, Changhua County. The school was established on April 1, 1922, with the name of the Fenyuan Public School Tonganliao Branch. In order to make it easier for the students to study, the residents of Tong'an Village and Zhonglun Village jointly created Tong'an, which has become the second primary school with a long history in Fenyuan Township, and has many alumni since the Japanese era. Before the Restoration (Japanese Occupation Era), there were 17 sessions, and it has entered 99 years of history. In recent years, due to the low birthrate problem and the increase of new communities in the branch campus, in 2012, there were only 30 students in the main school and 51 students in the branch campus.
2. Summary of Our Project
In 2016, the Changhua County Government considered the abolition of Tong'an Elementary School. The reason was that there were too few students in Tong'an Elementary School. This move caused panic among the community and teachers. Therefore, parents transferred students to other schools, and teachers were also due to job uncertainty. They were transferred to other schools. In the case of extreme disappointment, the community set up a self-rescue society to continuously fight against the county government, so that the county government agreed to send a new principal to take office. The new principal lived up to everyone's expectations, actively transformed the school and sought support from all walks of life. The characteristic courses developed finally showed results after three years, attracting parents from outside the school district, and the number of students increased year by year. Instead, it has become one of the most distinctive schools in Changhua County and a model for other schools to learn.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome
Since Mr. Shi Huangyu was already the principal when we came to study at Tong'an Elementary School, we couldn't feel that Tong'an Elementary School was once faced with the dilemma of being abolished. Because Teacher Wu asked us not only to look for information on the Internet, but also to ask school teachers for relevant photos and records of the past, and also to visit the people in the community. But because of covid-19, often because of time can not cooperate, making our whole process very difficult.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
We hope that by participating in the Internet Expo, we can let everyone know the efforts made by the principal to transform the school. This serious, responsible and ideal spirit is worth emulating and learning.
